Since I was a child my father passed on to me love and passion for running. At the age of seven I realized that speed skating would be my way and I started doing it on the roller.
But the true love of my life came to me just a little later when I decided to pursue a career in ice speed skating in 2013.
In 2017 I reached the first important goals: I won two gold medals – 5.000 m and 10.000 m – at the XXVIII Winter Universiade in Almaty. After the competition I set the new italian record on the 10.000 m run (13’01”38), which I lowered further the following year (12’53″63).
I continued to work hard to accomplish my goals and due to my time scores I gained the Olympic pass for the 2018 XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
During the 2021 sport season I managed to set a new italian record on the 3.000 m (3’39”07).
Determination and constancy led me to the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in Pechino; in that occasion I set again a new italian record on the 10.000 m run,and I won the bronze medal.
In the same year I competed in the World Cup finals and I reached the second place in both the 5.000 m and 10.000 m races. During the competition stages I also won one second place and two third places.
During the 2022 All around Championship I obtained my most recent success by winning two third places during the competition stages, respectively in the 5.000 m and 10.000 m.
